Unbelievable. If your life sucks, I'm sorry. But don't ruin the life of an innocent person, her 3 children and generations of people in their family because you are emotionally distressed.
This country contiunes to disintegrate before our eyes on a daily basis. Here is just one example:
ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- A lovesick teenage girl drove into an oncoming car in a suicide attempt that she counted down "8, 7, 6..." in a text message to the female classmate who spurned her, authorities said. The teenager survived but a woman in the other car -- a mother of three -- died.
Louise Egan Brunstad, 16, was charged Thursday with felony murder. Prosecutors said they intend to try her as an adult. If convicted, she faces an automatic life sentence.

LOST and other TV reviews for Friday October 20
LOST continues to keep me in suspense and is my number one rated show so far in 2006. Season three has not disappointed me yet, although the whole thing with the Others is beginning to get on my nerves a bit. It would be nice if the producers of the show would not drag this out for the entire season (which I do not think they will do.) For those of you who follow the show, there will be three more episodes in a row before LOST goes on a 12-week hiatus. From there, the final 17 episodes will air consecutively.
Here are my weekly TV show ratings:
1. LOST: still the best show on television. In this age of television where we get Law and Order and CSI jammed down our throats many times a week, this show is refreshing.
2. Greys Anatomy: I admit--I watch it every week, and sometimes it is interesting, but they are already using the gimmicky plots that ER has had to use for the last 5 years in order to keep viewers. Already the show is based on a love affair that may or may not ever happen. Been there, done that.
3. Studio 60: I am warming up to this show. The critics are already calling for its cancellation. I hope they keep it and see where it can go. Aaron Sorkin is a great producer.
4. Survivor: I used to be a huge fan of this show. Now it's just old, tired and played out. I wish they would take a long break and bring it back another time. The ratings are still good though.
5. Home Makeover: This show flat out rocks. I'd rather watch shows like this that do some good rather than CSI New York, Miami, Jacksonville, Raleigh, Amarillo and Toledo.
6. Dancing with the Stars: Yes, I watch it, yes I like it. The results show sucks, but I just watch the last part anyway. Again, this is a new kind of show--no court rooms, hospitals or things like that.
7. House: We like this show, but haven't been watching it. We will catch the re-runs.
8. 6 Degrees: I don't see this show making it, but I do watch it after lost.
9. Heroes: I'm done watching this show.
10. Debbie Does Dallas: Great Movie.
Oh Please.
Dear. Chris Rock's mother....
As if you are the only person in the world who has been ignored at any restaurant for 30 minutes. Cracker Barrel discriminates? Please. This coming from the mother of a son who makes a living making fun of white people.
I was at a Cracker Barrel a month ago and waited 20 minutes to be waited on...does that mean they hate red headed white guys too?
CHARLESTON, South Carolina (AP) -- Rose Rock, the mother of comedian Chris Rock, claims she was racially discriminated against when she was seated but ignored for a half hour at a Cracker Barrel restaurant along the South Carolina coast.
Rock said Tuesday she planned to sue the Lebanon, Tennessee-based company. A Cracker Barrel spokeswoman said the restaurant chain was investigating and taking the complaint "very seriously."
We had peaches.

Our first solid food experience was fun. Kat decided to take matters into her own hands and feed herself. Next, the sugar from the peaches kept her up until about 1 AM which was fun indeed. It was funny though watching her decipher new food. I didn't get to taste the peaches. I think I was drinking a Guinness instead.
In a word, glorious.
Saturday I went back to Toledo (Sylvania actually) to visit a friend of mine who asked me to come play golf. This was not your ordinary invitation because we played at a country club that I belonged to as a kid. I haven't played Highland Meadows in over 15 years and I miss it. Sometimes I have dreams at night about plying the course and I remember, quite vividly each hole on the course and even the houses that line the fairway. Like I said, I miss it.
Playing the course again--walking down each hole was like Christmas Day. Imagine something you used to do all the time, or a place that you loved to visit and going back for the first time in 15 years. It was a beautiful crisp fall day, the colors were spectacular, and we were about the only people on the course.
I could go on and on, but I won't bore you with the details. All I can say is, that Saturday afternoon was in a word, glorious. It was a day I will remember for a very long time. Who knows when I will ever have the chance to go back and play that great course. If I never step foot on it again, I had a great last day in the sun there.
An interview with LOL (archived replay)
Recently I sat down and interviewed LOL. The following is a transcript of our conversation....
IR: Hi LOL!!
LOL: Hi irish...lol.
IR: Seriously, how often are you really laughing out loud when someone LOL's?
LOL: Rarely ever....lol
IR: So you are basically full of shit.
LOL: LOL...yep.
IR: What's the difference between a lol and a LOL?
LOL: One has capital letters and the other means "yes I like to drop the soap."
IR: LOL!! Good one!
LOL: You didn't really laugh at that, did you?
IR: lol...nope.
LOL: lol...good because it really was a stupid joke.
IR: Do you think society has become so far out of touch that we rely on words like LOL to communicate a false sense of reality?
LOL: What the fuck did that mean? This is what I heard you say "blah blah blah, blah, blah blahhhhhh"
IR: Ok douchebag back off.
LOL: lol. I am in the dictionary you know.
IR: Yes, and that is sad. Are you related to ROFL and LMAO?
LOL: Yes, ROFL is a third cousin of mine, and LMAO is my great Uncle. I hate both of them.
IR: Why? lol.
LOL: Because...I swear to fucking god no one EVER rolls on the floor laughing their fucking ass fucking off. How stupid can you be?
IR: ROFL!!!
LOL: See, now you are just chastizing me.

Tomorrow I will be on a porn site LOL'ing every male who tries to say he has a ten inch weiner.
IR: Mine is 1.34 decimeters. I measure in metric because it sounds big.
LOL: lol.
IR: Did you laugh at that, really?
LOL: Yeah, that time I did tiny tim.

House Republican, Christopher Shays defended Dennis Hastert yesterday. He said the latest Republican cover up was nothing in comparison to what Sen. Ted Kennedy did years ago.
LOST was ok last night. I went over to the message boards just to see what the fans had to say. There seems to be a lot of discontent with the show. I'm not quite sure what everyone is expecting. You can't have a season finale every week.

Wednesday Television review
Since today is the greatest day of television (LOST is on), I thought I would make a list of TV shows we watch and comment on each:
LOST: Best concept show on television in YEARS. I am riveted each week. When commercials come on, I get pissed off--which tells me how much I love the show.
6 Degrees: I have watched all 3 episodes....not sure yet if this one can make it.
The Nine: Is there material for more than one season?
Boston Legal: This show is as crude as can be...but I can't stop watching it. Denny Crain.
House: We love this show!
Bones: I am warming to this show. Even though it's yet another crime scene type show.
Grey's Anatomy: Yet another hospital show, but with hot babes. Once Dr. Grey picks someone to be with, the show is over. Remember the show Ed?
Heroes: I gave it 3 episodes and now I am done. The show is going nowhere.
Survivor: I have watched every episode from every season....until now....Survivor bores me to tears. It's time to take a break and come back in a year.
Studio 60: I am warming up to this show. If you watched The West Wing, have you noticed how similar the 2 shows are? Aaron Sorkin produces this show, as he did the first few seasons of West Wing. The show is solid!
American Government, American Morons.
Have you seen the estimated death toll in Iraq? It's staggering. Here is an excerpt from cnn.com:
NEW YORK (AP) -- A controversial new study contends nearly 655,000 Iraqis have died because of the war, suggesting a far higher death toll than other estimates.
The timing of the survey's release, just a few weeks before the U.S. congressional elections, led one expert to call it "politics."
In the new study, researchers attempt to calculate how many more Iraqis have died since March 2003 than one would expect without the war. Their conclusion, based on interviews of households and not a body count, is that about 600,000 died from violence, mostly gunfire. They also found a small increase in deaths from other causes like heart disease and cancer.
Three times in the last day I have heard the release of the death stats as being "politics". First off, I am just glad the President and his crew actually gave us some truth in numbers instead of hiding it. Second, people dying is not politics. The release of it might be, but it shows where the American mindset is right now. Third, 655,000 people have died mostly due to the violence there?
I am posing this question: Twenty Years from now, when kids in school learn about this absolute disaster, what do you think people will be saying about GWB? Will they be saying the same things about him as they do LBJ/Vietnam now? Will the conservative right still hail GWB as a God? What do you think??
Double Standard?
Ok, read this and be HONEST. If HE would have left HER at the altar and runaway, would you agree with him suing her for damages?
LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia (AP) -- The "runaway bride," who took off days before her lavish wedding in 2005, is suing her former fiance for $500,000, claiming he defrauded her out of her share of their assets, including a ladder, a gold sofa and gifts.
Jennifer Wilbanks is seeking $250,000 as her share of a home she says John C. Mason purchased through the partnership with proceeds from $500,000 received for selling their story to Regan Media in New York.
She also wants $250,000 in punitive damages for alleged abuse of the power of attorney she granted for Mason to handle their financial affairs.
She is seeking the return of personal property she claims he has kept, including the ladder that belonged to her father, a gold sofa and wedding shower gifts. Mason's attorney in July wrote to Wilbanks attorney that his client had agreed to deliver those items.
I say--if you run away...you lose.

Dear Satan, please make room for yet another jackass.
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (AP) -- Four children were found dead in a public housing complex Friday after a man walked into police headquarters and said he had killed his family.
The man, who had been living in Oregon, had an argument about the children with his estranged wife before he attacked her with a blunt instrument, said Lt. Col. Phil Turner.

Tonight I plan to GET LOST!!!

Another waste of human life
PARADISE, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- A 32-year-old truck driver walked into an Amish schoolhouse Monday, binding and shooting three girls execution-style before killing himself, police said Monday.
Seven other girls were wounded in the attack, which police said appeared to be a revenge killing for an incident that occurred two decades ago.
As I said before, this is what society has become. Collectively, we are mentally ill. It scares me to think about the thoughts running through the head of the man I see in the rest area, or the young kid at a football game, or even the jogger who is running around the block. This latest waste of human life decided that he couldn't go on and that he needed to atone for something that happened 20 years ago.
So, 3 young girls died today because of something that happened to this fuckhead 20 years ago. They woke up this morning, ate breakfast, went to school and then died execution style. Nice day, eh?
This is the society we live in folks. 90 percent of the people in it are mentally sick and completely downtrodden with life. One day, someone you know is going to wake up after a great night's sleep, eat breakfast, go to work or school and then die at the hands of a lunatic. There are days that I absolutely hate the world we live in and today is definitely one of them.
The Capital of College Football
The Ohio State Buckeyes (Number ONE in the country) systematically destroyed the Iowa Hawkeyes at Iowa this weekend. It was what college football is all about. The Iowa stadium was packed with fans dressed in yellow (gold) shirts and they were loud as hell. Of course, when the best team in college football is playing at its best, none of that matters.
Columbus, Ohio is the capital of college football. It's where the number one Buckeyes play. There are many great college football towns--Knoxville, State College, College Station, Gainesville and that town up north that I refuse to spell out.
The biggest game in college football, Ohio State vs. Michigan, is shaping up to be a battle between 11-0 teams. If both teams take care of business, the biggest game of the year will turn out to be even bigger. Of course, the game is being played in Columbus, the capital of college football!!!
